NOTICIAS DE "NO-NOTICIAS" SOBRE LA PELICULA ROBOTECH!

Hola a todos!

Quería dejar de lado por un momento el torneo y compartir algunas noticias, y más concretamente algunas NO noticias sobre la  Pelicula de Robotech que la Warner Brothers tiene los derechos.

Recientemente, en el sitio de fans RobotechX.com hubo cierta "especulación" sobre si el director Cary Fukunaga se le acercaron  para dirigir la Pelicula. La especulación llegó con la siguiente cita de Cary;

"They’re always surprised with what I want to do and don’t want to do. I think they’re surprised I don’t want to do robo-tech."

"Siempre están sorprendidos con lo que quiero hacer y no quiero hacer. Creo que están sorprendido de que yo no quiero hacer robo-tech."

Ahora ustedes chicos y chicas saben que yo tengo un probleam con la especulaciones LOCAS con esta película y en este caso no fue diferente. MAS AUN en esta ocasión porque un cierto "moderador" de RobotechX Y Robotech.com  que he mencionado en mi podcast antes decidió en dar criticias SIN fundacion a Cary y su estilo de dirección bajo el supuesto de que el había dicho NO a Robotech. Lei y volvi a leer esa cita y yo no veo NADA QUE DICE ESO.


Yo presenté mi argumento en contra de esto. Que Warner Brothers no se menciona y no hay nada específico diciendo que Cary fue contactado sobre Robotech.


Este tema realmente me molestó .... y me dije a mí mismo ... JT,  HAZ ALGO AL RESPECTO !!....

Si he demostrado algo en este viaje llamado The Protoculture Times , JT va en busca de noticias!


Así que decidí salir a relatar la historia del hombre mismo.


Quiero agradecer personalmente a Cary por el siguiente mensaje que comparto con ustedes ... mi FAMILIA ROBOTECH!

I normally don't answer emails from facebook, I haven't read the link you sent but can imagine what it contains. Given the subject, I can set some of the record straight. You'll forgive me if after I set the record straight, I'm not huge on correspondences via facebook, but definitely thank you for at least asking me what was the what!

One, Warner does indeed have a project of which I have been made aware.

Two, I am a fan of the animé as was my brother growing up and jealously, he had a lot of the models. In fact I still own the complete original series on DVD and it moves w/ me from location to location.
Three, I have not passed nor have I been offered the gig.

I don't know which interview or screening this soundbite is from, but I simply meant there is that tent pole genre of film, that summer time pop corn film, that I am not interested in directing yet. There may or may not have been versions of the Robotech script that fell into that category. That doesn't mean that "Robotech" is a property doesn't interest me, or is not a film that couldn't transcend that genre, it definitely could go above and beyond that.

Usted me perdonará si después de dejar las cosas claras, no estoy animado para las correspondencias a través de Facebook, pero defnitivament te agradezco  por lo menos en preguntarme para lo que es qué!

    Uno, Warner tiene de hecho un proyecto del que he sido informado.

    Dos, yo soy un fan del anime como lo fue mi hermano mientras crecimos y tenia celos del , porque el tenia  un montón de los modelos. De hecho, todavía poseen la serie completa en DVD original y se mueve conmigo de un lugar a otro.

    Tres, no he rechazado ni he sido ofrecido el proyecto,

    No sé en que entrevista fue esta cita, pero yo simplemente quería decir que has ese género pelicula que son éxitos de taquilla , esa pelicula de "tiempo de verano" que no estoy interesado en dirigir todavía. Pudo o no haber sido versiones del guión de Robotech que cayó en esa categoría. Eso no quiere decir que "Robotech" es una propiedad que no me interesa, o que no es una película que no podía superar ese género, que sin duda podría ir más allá de eso.

Cary es de hecho un VERDADERO PROFESIONAL en tomarse el tiempo para responder a mi pregunta, El tiene todo mi respeto y mis mejores deseos de éxito continua en su carrera!

Las especulaciones sobre el futuro de Robotech ha resultado en la frustración entre los aficionados. Pero que ciertos individuos lanzen una historia falsa y deliberadamente tratando de engañar a una base de fans que ya estan un poco cansados por el estado de Robotech no ayuda a las cosas. Aunque en este momento mis esperanzas de una Pelicula Robotech están en su punto más bajo, hay fans que todavía creen que puede ocurrir y por eso tienen mi respeto. Y si sucede .... sería una buena cosa!

SI ES QUE LO HACEN BIEN....................

NON-ROBOTECH LIVE ACTION MOVIE NEWS....

Hi all!

Wanted to sidetrack for a moment from the Tournament and share some news, well more specifically some NON news about the Robotech Live Action Movie.

Recently, on the fan site RobotechX.com there was some "speculation" on whether or not director Cary Fukunaga was approached to direct the proposed Robotech Live Action Movie. The speculation came from the following quote from Cary;

"They’re always surprised with what I want to do and don’t want to do. I think they’re surprised I don’t want to do robo-tech."

The title of the thread on RobotechX was "CARY FUKUNAGA APPROACHED TO DIRECT ROBOTECH LAM...TURNS IT DOWN"

Now you guys and girls KNOW that I take issue with  the WILD SPECULATIONS with this PROPOSED movie and this was no different. Even MORE SO this time because a certain RobotechX AND Robotech.com moderator who I have mentioned on my podcast before decided to just BASH Cary and his directing style under the ASSUMPTION that he had said NO to Robotech. I read and re-read that line and I don't see ANYTHING in that quote that says that....

I presented my counter argument on this. That Warner Brothers is never mentioned and there is NOTHING SPECIFIC saying that Cary was approached about Robotech. 

This topic really bugged me....and I said to myself...JT,  DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!.... 

If I have proved ANYTHING in this journey called The Protoculture Times, is that little ol' JT is a GO GETTER!

So I decided to GO out there and GET the story straight from the MAN HIMSELF.

Cary is indeed a TRUE PROFESSIONAL and to take the time to respond to my inquiry, he has my respect and my well wishes on continued success in his career! 

What's truly awesome it that Cary didn't have to respond..but he did! And if he were to be approached for the RLAM, now that it's been PROVEN he wasn't....he's DEFINITELY got my vote!

Speculations about Robotech's future has led to FRUSTRATION among fans. Throwing out a FALSE STORY and knowingly trying to DECEIVE AN ALREADY TIRED FAN BASE about it does not help things. Although at this point my hopes for a Robotech Live Action are at an ALL TIME LOW, there are fans that still believe it can happen and for that they have my respect. And if it DOES happen....it would be a good thing!

IF IT'S DONE RIGHT.....

No matter what happens to Robotech......THE ROBOTECH SPIRIT WILL NEVER DIE.

NOW.........BACK TO THE ROBOTECH PARTY TIME BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With so much speculation and frustration in the Robotech fandom , for an "executive" of Harmony Gold to go on a public forum and act so UNPROFESSIONALLY without any regard for their responsibility as an "official spokesperson" for the franchise and resort to NAME CALLING when fans doubt the direction of Robotech.....Kevin Mckeever;

I'm sorry if I'm upset everyone...For me THE ROBOTECH EPISODE EXPLOSION TOURNAMENT is about remembering WHY we became Robotech fans...but to see this kind of behavior from those that help run and "represent it"....it's a slap to those that keep on celebrating Robotech no matter what's going on in the present. Let's continue celebrating and I apologize for the lapse in my enthusiasm.
