With so much Tournament talk in the last few weeks....it's good to be in the old computer chair for another round of random quips....
The Character Clash Tournament has exceeded all expectations! With the Quarter Finals in full swing, it's really tough to vote on who stays and who goes.....but that's where all of you come in. Your votes......YOUR Tournament. Keep on having fun!
In the end ......there can only be ONE!
I've sat down and outlined how I want to do the Senttinels. On our next AnnivesaryCast, I'll have more specifics. I apologize for the delay in a "regular" episode of the "Times"........I really miss doing it!
And YES...some surprises are in store.......
I keep meeting people on this journey that I NEVER EVER would have dreamt of even giving it a second thought. I'll be honest.....it's been an emotional roller coaster at times.
Just the way that I am guys and girls......PASSIONATE about a dream fulfilled, PROUD of the results, and PRIVILEGED to celebrate it with so many people around the world.....

With Anime Expo in the history books, the big news was announced that the fans are to expect a new animated feature for Robotech in the next year.............my first reaction?
Can we say Shadow Rising Hype...Version 2.0??
The picture of Sera shown at the AnimeExpo panel was the "bone" Tommy decided to throw out to the fans....and when you ask people to turn off flash photography and video cams for something like this....Did Tommy really think that something wouldn't leak out?
Hmmmmmm.............are we trying to show Warner Brothers that we're still actively "working" on Robotech Toms? How do you explain the last 3 years then?
I LITERALLY FACEPALMED when Tommy mentioned the "Prelude selling for $80 on Ebay" line.......will someone tell me for sure it's 2010....
I just can't get excited with this latest development. I have more faith in the Live Action Movie which in my opinion Tommy/HG has no say in than a picture that looks like a redoing of an Invid Enforcer!
And with the Live Action Movie......the wild speculation continues..........and honestly....I laugh at it now......all I ask is HOW FAR those speculations will go?
But I stick to my guns............Harmony Gold's input on the LAM is nil, zilch, zero, hitting negative numbers.....so if it did get shelved.....it's NOT their fault,
As I have said.. I can surely appreciate the presence of the Voice Actors because they brought the characters I love to life.....I really appreciate the tribute to Carl Macek..........but when it comes to the future of this franchise...of ANY FRANCHISE.....it is based on PROGRESS AND RESULTS!
Shadow Chronicles - You can box it up in a thousand different ways....you can't milk this dry cow anymore.....
Shadow Rising - Best thing Tommy could've done was NOT bring this to fruition. IF the Live Action Movie comes out and totally disregards the "Yuniverse"......can you imagine the field day Tommy's dertractors would have with that?......Even I"M not that cruel......
Or am I?.....hee hee!

Robotech.com - On the main page..........and article from December 29, 2003!!!!!!!!! Where's the effort.....where's the initiative? THAT is the face of the franchise........it may be beyond plastic surgery at this point.....
March 4th, 2010 - Harmony Gold without so much as an acknowledgement of 25 years since the debut of The Original 85!
And I as a Robotech fan am supposed to get EXCITED over a picture and "we're working on it..."
Here's a preview of NEXT year's convention tour......."Ok everybody, we're going to need you to close your eyes and imagine the new Robotech series. Can you see it?. All the colors and the lights? Well there you go, thanks for coming out and see you next year!"
And YES, I am being cynical........and yes Cheryl I still give the LAM a 20% chance.....[BIG HUGS]
I'm not going to apologize for how I feel about these recent developments and I'm not jumping on the "Robotech is SAVED" tour bus. If you are excited and absolutely have faith in Tommy/HG's course of action, more power to you. I'll never have a problem with that. I'll stick to my opinion and if people want to frown on that and "talk"?.....lmao! Then talk.....because that's where it starts and ends......this isn't a religion of the faithful and heretics....it's an animated series.
Now you understand why I really don't get into the franchise's present and future on the show and rather concentrate on it's history?............It's better....and no pain! (lol!)
I think I'm doing a better than average job of having a Robotech party with The Protoculture Times!

I like to remember why I love Robotech....NOT why I'm frustrated with it's current state.....
It makes the the 25th Anniversary Celebration much more fun!
