It's about the blatant bias and shameless hypocrisy happening over at of ALL PLACES...www.robotech.com! (Who would've thought?)
People getting censored and banned over "disagreeing" with the forum moderators over Macross legalities, yet how in the hell do they explain this kind of rhetoric? (and I show what part of the terms the Terms of Use for the website this violates).
Let's experiment shall we?
If you feel strongly about the ongoing abuse of privelages on part of the Robotech.com forum moderators, let's challenge those who can do something about it, if they choose to.

If NOT, WHY AREN'T your forum moderators enforcing the the Terms Of Use, that you have established for Robotech.com, in light of this blatant violation of it, encouraging a criminal offense a group of people?

Just too much going on then for me to devote the necessary time to the show and it would not be fair to me nor to you the listener to put out something half-assed. I will be back for a new episode on Friday, October 30th. I will however still chime in on the blog and I will have a "mini-cast" sometime before that in which I will dedicate it to discuss a topic that covers something unfortunate in the Robotech franchise that I found when re-exploring it. It's simply information I pass on to the rest of you...

Random thoughts 10/13/09
Hi all....here for another round!
Thanks to all who have chimed in on Episode 4!
Don't know if I could pull off another 2 hour show...that one took a lot outta me....but it was nice to answer listener questions! Right now it's been very hectic for me, hopefully within the next few weeks, things can get back to semi-normal, hee hee!
BREAKING NEWS: After much begging, pleading and acts I'm sure they will be ashamed of later on, Pizza Hut was welcomed backed as a Robotech sponsor. IFAK, the International Federation of Ass Kissing has invited Pizza Hut for their world championships.
To the Macross World peeps, thanks for the compliments, they were a welcomed surprise!
To "SAVE"...you say it your way, I say it my way...concentrate on more pressing matters....
I really wonder what Robotech's 25th anniversary is going to be like..........I try to keep upbeat about it!
What IS Harmony Gold's vision for Robotech fandom? If I were a wagering man...I would bet the farm that it ain't Memo's vision....and I'd win. (Yeah, I am giving HG THAT much credit!)
On the Robotech.com forums, the moderators will ban or suspend posting privelages on someone for such things as being disruptive, personal attacks, and of course, disagreeing with them...however, they WON'T ban you if you use as the signature for all your posts..."Death to Macross Purists!"....and yes I AM QUOTING!
What the f*ck is that all about?????? You mods couldn't moderate an argument between a rabbit and a mule over who has big ears!

Episode 4- MACROSS STORY TIME PT. 2 AND A WHOLE LOT MORE!
Hey Everyone!
First and foremost, I APOLOGIZE for the delay in this episode coming out. Things have been hectic the last two weeks...but I'm glad I was able to come out with with another edition of The Protoculture Times!

THE PROTOCULTURE TIMES POLL - Results from the recent poll I had at the show's website....was and wasn't surprised at the same time....thanks to all who voted!
IN THE ROBOTECH SPOTLIGHT - The man behind the music....
And for the final segment...
I received an email from a listener who "challenged" me to get certain things out of my system...and do I ever....(and V. Johnson, thank you for the email again and let me know if you are a guy or girl...lol!)
I do want to say that the commentary I have regarding Maverick and Memo in this last segment reflects only my views. Remember when you listen to it, it's just one fan's opinion. I don't want to speak for anyone else in the Robotech fandom as I believe that the fans can think on their own, have their own opinions and can come to their own conclusions, whether it's in agreeance with me or not. That's what the diversity of opinion is about. I was hesitant about doing it due to that I feel it diverts from the fun I want to have with this show. Now that it's on the episode, I actually feel a weight off my shoulders and it gives me more resolve to enjoy this journey....Thanks V. for inspiring this!
And of course, THE ROBOTECH WORD OF THE SHOW, I save it for the very end for reasons that will be obvious when you get there....hee hee!

Robotech Fandom 2.0....hmmm? That has a nice ring to it!
Nice little debate going on in the blog about whether Harmony Gold owes anything to the fandom. I LOVE IT! The fan's speaking their minds! For me, I think the fandom owes itself to voice it's opinion, whether that's for or against H.G. They shouldn't be a factor in how we enjoy it though. Get it out of your system though. Praise and criticism are a part of life. Believe me, i get enough of both since doing this! LOL! It is a frustrating situation with them, but if they don't want to celebrate Robotech, what can you do? In the mean time, I'm gonna enjoy the journey towards the 25th anniversary. Quoting many great historical figures....TO HELL WITH THEM!

To use Obsessive–compulsive disorder, a disease that affects 1 in 50 adults in the United States alone as a platform to bash Robotech fans that don't see things your way or who you feel don't have a "significant" life like yours is irresponsible but above all else IGNORANT. What do you do for an encore? Trip blind people? Heckle people in wheelchairs? MAVERIC LSC, you have now become the poster boy for the ignorance that occurs in the Robotech fandom. And you try to sell yourself as a "regular guy"?........YAH....RIGGGGGHHHHHT......
And remember, this is just one fan's opinion.....
And MEMO1DOMINION, lets take your "criticisms" point by point shall we?
"TO MUCH TIME SPENT WITH THE SHOUT OUT'S. DONT KNOW HOW MANNY MINUTES INTO THE PODCAST WITH THAT BUT I THINK MY MIND WENT ANOTHER WAY FROM LISTENING. AND WHEN I RETURNED BACK TO YOUR SHOW, YOU WERE STILL GIVING SHOUT OUT'S."
The "shout outs" will continue to be a part of the show...because I like them...the easiest solution is to forward the recording as it is an MP3 file....you go on to say;
"FLOOR IT TO THE DISCUSSION MAN. BECAUSE ONCE I GOT THERE I WAS VERY SLEEPY. AND LIKE SIGH, I DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME EITHER."
The beauty of an MP3 file is that you can listen to it at ANY point of the day, month or year...so that takes care of that too....
And just remember Memo, this show was NOT made for just you in mind....then you say;
"NOW, ONCE YOU GOT TO YOUR OPINION, I CAN REALLY SEE WHAT THE SHOW IS ABOUT.."YOUR OPINION". WHAT COULD I SAY? I HEARD IT AND GAVE YOU THE TIME BUT THINGS LIKE THAT MAKE ME TURN OFF. HOPE THINGS CHANGE A BIT AND GET INTO EVERYONE'S OPINION AND LISTENING TO EVERYONE.
BUT IF HP IS RIGHT ABOUT WHAT YOUR SHOW IS, IT BECOMES AS "YOUR OPINION SHOW" AND WELL.. I WOULD MOVE ON. "
Ahhh...now we come to the heart of the matter....YES I am opinionated....I wouldn't deny that for anything in the world...but how come you forget the mention the various moments in the show where I state the following;
"It's one fan's opinion..."
"not meant to be the Robotech gospel (which does not exist)
"celebrating the diversity of opinion....even if it's opinions that disagree with me"
"chime in with your thoughts...if I forgot something...agree, disagree...or down the middle at protoculturetimes@gmail.com"
Why is that Memo? Those statements you are careful to omit directly contradict your argument about the show being about "just my opinion".
Did you not listen?...Did you fall asleep?....Or is it another attempt by you to just further your agenda on your "holy vision" of what the Robotech fandom should be in your eyes''?..Bowing our heads and saying..."That's Great Harmony gold!...Oh that's super....that's sensational!"
You and Maverick as Robotech.com Forum Moderators?,...makes all the sense in the world now...LOL!
And finally you say;
"WILL CHECK OUT EPISODE 2. TO SEE WHAT CHANGED. BUT IF I STOPPED POSTING HERE IS BECAUSE I MOVED ON."
I'd rather you not actually ...I'd prefer you just take your tuna fish hat and "move on"..... my show is about celebrating the diversity opinion in the Robotech fandom ...not to conform to your "holy vison"...and I know you like to think you have some "stroke" in the Robotech world but I would really really be surprised if the people at H.G.even shared your vision....then again..these are the same people that gave the fans the Shadow Chronicles. (oh you guys knew I had to mention that!...LOL!)
I understand criticism of the podcast...believe me...I get tons...but when you paint a picture of the show when there are elements in it that negate your arguments...I'll take issue with it...that simple...simple as that!
And remember, this is just one fan's opinion.....
In the end though, it's about having fun and enjoying DA' ROBOTECH!

And MEMO1DOMINION, lets take your "criticisms" point by point shall we?

The "shout outs" will continue to be a part of the show...because I like them...the easiest solution is to forward the recording as it is an MP3 file....you go on to say;
"FLOOR IT TO THE DISCUSSION MAN. BECAUSE ONCE I GOT THERE I WAS VERY SLEEPY. AND LIKE SIGH, I DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME EITHER."
The beauty of an MP3 file is that you can listen to it at ANY point of the day, month or year...so that takes care of that too....
And just remember Memo, this show was NOT made for just you in mind....then you say;
"NOW, ONCE YOU GOT TO YOUR OPINION, I CAN REALLY SEE WHAT THE SHOW IS ABOUT.."YOUR OPINION". WHAT COULD I SAY? I HEARD IT AND GAVE YOU THE TIME BUT THINGS LIKE THAT MAKE ME TURN OFF. HOPE THINGS CHANGE A BIT AND GET INTO EVERYONE'S OPINION AND LISTENING TO EVERYONE.
BUT IF HP IS RIGHT ABOUT WHAT YOUR SHOW IS, IT BECOMES AS "YOUR OPINION SHOW" AND WELL.. I WOULD MOVE ON. "
Ahhh...now we come to the heart of the matter....YES I am opinionated....I wouldn't deny that for anything in the world...but how come you forget the mention the various moments in the show where I state the following;
"It's one fan's opinion..."
"not meant to be the Robotech gospel (which does not exist)
"celebrating the diversity of opinion....even if it's opinions that disagree with me"
"chime in with your thoughts...if I forgot something...agree, disagree...or down the middle at protoculturetimes@gmail.com"
Why is that Memo? Those statements you are careful to omit directly contradict your argument about the show being about "just my opinion".
Did you not listen?...Did you fall asleep?....Or is it another attempt by you to just further your agenda on your "holy vision" of what the Robotech fandom should be in your eyes''?..Bowing our heads and saying..."That's Great Harmony gold!...Oh that's super....that's sensational!"
You and Maverick as Robotech.com Forum Moderators?,...makes all the sense in the world now...LOL!
And finally you say;

I'd rather you not actually ...I'd prefer you just take your tuna fish hat and "move on"..... my show is about celebrating the diversity opinion in the Robotech fandom ...not to conform to your "holy vison"...and I know you like to think you have some "stroke" in the Robotech world but I would really really be surprised if the people at H.G.even shared your vision....then again..these are the same people that gave the fans the Shadow Chronicles. (oh you guys knew I had to mention that!...LOL!)
I understand criticism of the podcast...believe me...I get tons...but when you paint a picture of the show when there are elements in it that negate your arguments...I'll take issue with it...that simple...simple as that!
And remember, this is just one fan's opinion.....
In the end though, it's about having fun and enjoying DA' ROBOTECH!
